Done For You

Answer pre-sale questions and win back abandoned carts in your store's voice

A done-for-you cart recovery and pre-sale automation is an AI agent BufferSol builds into your store, helpdesk and email platform. It answers shopper questions about sizing, shipping, stock and returns in chat and email using your real catalog and policies, and follows up on abandoned carts with messages based on what each shopper looked at or asked. Discounts follow rules you set. It goes live in 3 to 6 weeks.

The outcome

What changes for your business

1

Questions answered before checkout

Shoppers get accurate answers on fit, shipping cost, delivery dates and returns while they are still on the product page, drawn from your own data.

2

Recovery that fits the shopper

Follow-ups mention the product, the question asked and the likely reason for hesitating, instead of a generic reminder with a coupon attached.

3

Margin kept under control

Incentives go only to carts and customers that meet your rules, so recovered revenue is not bought with blanket discounts.

Is this you?

Direct-to-consumer brands and online retailers on Shopify or BigCommerce with steady traffic, a Klaviyo or Shopify Email recovery flow already running, and a small support team in Gorgias or Zendesk that cannot answer pre-sale chats fast enough.

  • Pre-sale chats about sizing, delivery dates or stock wait hours while the team works through order issues.
  • Your abandoned cart flow sends the same three emails to everyone, with a discount in the last one.
  • Shoppers who never reached the email step of checkout get no follow-up at all.
  • Nobody can say which questions come up right before people leave the cart.
  • Recovery discount codes end up on coupon sites and eat into margin.

Today vs done for you

The current way, and the new way

What your team does by hand today, and what the automation does instead, step by step.

How it works today

  1. A shopper opens chat to ask if a size runs small or when an order would arrive, and waits in the same Gorgias queue as refund requests.
  2. An agent looks up the product, the size chart and the carrier cutoff, then types an answer, often after the shopper has left.
  3. Klaviyo sends a fixed abandoned cart sequence on a timer, with no idea what the shopper asked or why they stopped.
  4. The last email in the flow offers a site-wide code to everyone who has not bought yet.
  5. Shoppers without a recorded email or marketing consent drop out of recovery entirely.
  6. Once a month someone exports flow metrics and guesses which subject line to change.

What it quietly costs you

  • · Ready-to-buy shoppers leave while they wait for a simple answer.
  • · Blanket discounts teach repeat customers to abandon carts on purpose.
  • · Support hours go to the same twenty pre-sale questions every day.

How it works done for you

  1. The agent sits in your chat widget and inbox and reads each pre-sale question alongside the product, variant stock, shipping rules and returns policy.
  2. It answers with specifics, such as the size to pick from the fit notes or the delivery date for the shopper's postcode, and hands off to a person when it is unsure or the order is large.
  3. When a cart or checkout is abandoned, it reads the session: products viewed, questions asked, shipping cost shown and whether the shopper is new or returning.
  4. It drafts a short follow-up that addresses the likely blocker and sends it through Klaviyo or Shopify Email only to people with the right consent for that channel.
  5. It applies your incentive rules, for example free shipping only for first-time buyers above a set cart value, using single-use codes.
  6. Every conversation, message and code is logged against the customer in Shopify and your helpdesk, with a weekly report on the questions that stall purchases.

Guardrails built in

  • The agent answers only from your catalog, policies and live stock, and says it will check with a person when the data is missing.
  • Messages go only to customers with the consent your region and channel require, checked on every send.
  • Discounts follow written rules, use single-use codes and stop at a monthly cap you set.
  • Price-match requests, health or safety claims and custom orders always go to a person.

Why it hurts today

What teams say about this work

Common complaints from operators, reviewers and industry research.

Shoppers leave carts most often over extra costs such as shipping, tax and fees, slow delivery and distrust of the site, all questions that can be answered before checkout.

Frequent online shoppers report leaving a site they were ready to buy from because a specific question went unanswered, and many gave up while waiting for a reply.

Merchants find the abandoned cart template locked to marketing subscribers only, so most shoppers who leave never get a reminder, and support could not fix it.

Recovery automations fail quietly with a does-not-accept-marketing error, and merchants only discover it after checking why no emails went out.

Cart Recovery & Pre-Sale Questions: questions

Straight answers to what clients ask us most.

Ask our team

How long until it is live?

Most builds are live in 3 to 6 weeks. We start by loading your catalog, policies, shipping rules and past chat transcripts, then connect Shopify, your helpdesk and Klaviyo. The agent runs in draft mode first, with your team approving answers and follow-ups, and goes fully live once accuracy on real conversations meets the bar you set.

What does it cost?

It depends on your traffic, how many channels the agent covers, and which store, helpdesk and email tools are involved. We review your current flows and chat volume, then give a fixed quote. Pricing is quoted after a short scoping call, so you see the full cost before anything is built or connected.

Will it replace our Klaviyo flows?

No. Klaviyo or Shopify Email stays the sending platform, with your templates, consent records and reporting. The agent decides what each follow-up should say and whether an incentive applies, then passes that content and logic into your existing flows. Your marketer keeps control of timing, design and suppression lists.

How does it avoid wrong answers about stock or delivery dates?

It reads live inventory from Shopify, carrier cutoffs and shipping rules from your settings, and policies from documents you approve. If a value is missing or conflicting, it tells the shopper a person will confirm and creates a ticket. A weekly sample of answers is reviewed with your team, and any mistake becomes a new rule.

Can it follow up with shoppers who did not opt in to marketing?

Only where your consent rules allow it. The agent checks consent for each channel before every message and respects the rules for the shopper's region, such as GDPR in the UK and Europe. Where a reminder counts as marketing, shoppers without consent are skipped. Your legal or compliance lead signs off on the consent settings during setup.
