Know what competitors changed this week and what it means for your deals
A done-for-you market and competitor monitoring automation is an AI agent BufferSol sets up to watch the sources that matter in your market: competitor websites and pricing pages, release notes, job posts, review sites, news, filings and your own CRM win-loss notes. It filters out noise, explains what changed and why it matters, drafts battlecard updates for review, and sends a short weekly brief to leadership and sales, with every claim linked to its source.

What changes for your business
Changes spotted early
Pricing, packaging, product and positioning changes are caught within days, with a before-and-after view and a short note on why it matters.
Sales ready for competitive deals
Battlecards and talk tracks stay current, and reps get a heads-up when a competitor appears in one of their open opportunities.
Leadership sees the pattern
A weekly brief ties competitor moves to your own win-loss data, so strategy discussions start from tracked evidence instead of anecdotes.
Is this you?
B2B and SaaS companies whose product marketing, strategy or sales leaders compete against a handful of named rivals and need the team to hear about changes before customers mention them.
- Reps learn about a competitor's new pricing from a prospect
- Battlecards were last updated before the competitor's latest release
- Someone checks competitor websites by hand whenever they remember
- Google Alerts fill an inbox that nobody reads
- Win-loss notes in the CRM are never connected to what competitors are doing
Today vs done for you
The current way, and the new way
What your team does by hand today, and what the automation does instead, step by step.
How it works today
- A product marketer checks competitor sites, LinkedIn pages and G2 listings when there is time
- Google Alerts and industry newsletters pile up in an inbox
- Interesting findings are posted in a Slack channel and scroll out of sight
- Battlecards in Google Docs, Highspot or Notion are refreshed once or twice a year
- Loss reasons sit in Salesforce or HubSpot fields that nobody analyzes
What it quietly costs you
- · Deals lost because the rep was surprised by a competitor's new offer
- · Hours of senior time spent scanning sources that rarely change
- · Strategy decisions based on anecdotes rather than tracked evidence
How it works done for you
- We agree the competitors, topics and sources to watch: websites, pricing and documentation pages, release notes, job boards, review sites, news, podcasts, and filings or patents where relevant
- The agent checks each source on a schedule, compares it with the last stored snapshot and records exactly what changed
- It classifies each change by type, such as pricing, product, hiring, partnership or messaging, scores its relevance to your deals and drops the noise
- It links changes to your CRM: open opportunities that name that competitor, recent losses and the reasons reps logged
- It drafts battlecard updates and talk tracks; product marketing approves them before they reach Highspot, Seismic, Notion or Salesforce
- A weekly brief goes to leadership and sales in Slack, Teams or email, and urgent changes are sent the same day
- Every finding stores its source link and snapshot, so any claim can be checked later

Why it hurts today
What teams say about this work
Common complaints from operators, reviewers and industry research.
Competitive intelligence teams describe stitching competitor information together by hand from spreadsheets and scattered tools.
Teams report that more of their deals are competitive than a year ago and that the market is getting noisier, while reps rate their own readiness for competitive deals as middling at best.
Only about half of teams share competitive intelligence weekly or faster, so many reps work from monthly or older updates.
Workers now use many more applications than a few years ago and nearly half struggle to find the information they need, so scattered alerts and channels rarely reach the people working the deal.

- What did our top three competitors change in pricing or packaging this quarter?
- Which open deals name a competitor, and which competitor shows up most often?
- Why did we lose to our main competitor last quarter, according to the CRM notes and call recordings?
How long does it take to start monitoring competitors?
Most clients are live in 3 to 6 weeks. We agree the competitor list, the sources and what counts as a meaningful change, connect your CRM and sales enablement tool, and take first snapshots of every source. The agent then runs for a trial period while product marketing rates each alert, which tunes the noise filter before the weekly brief goes to a wider audience.
What does it cost?
We provide a quote after a short scoping call. It depends on how many competitors and sources we track, how often each is checked, whether we connect call recordings such as Gong for win-loss themes, and where briefs and battlecards need to land. You get a fixed scope in writing before any build work starts.
Is it legal to monitor competitors' websites?
Watching public pages, press releases, job posts, review sites and filings is standard practice. We stay on public sources, respect each site's terms and robots rules, never log in to competitor products or use fake accounts, and keep snapshots only for checking claims. If a source has unclear terms, we flag it during scoping and leave it out unless you confirm it is allowed.
Do we still need Crayon or Klue?
Not necessarily. Many mid-sized teams use this automation instead of a dedicated platform because it lives in the tools they already use. If you already pay for Crayon or Klue, the agent can feed their battlecards and add what they lack for you, such as links to your own CRM deals, Slack alerts per opportunity and a leadership brief.
How do you stop it flooding us with noise?
Every alert is scored for relevance, and anything below your threshold goes into the weekly digest instead of a same-day ping. Cosmetic website changes, reposted news and routine job ads are dropped. Product marketing rates alerts during the first weeks, and those ratings tune the filter. Only pricing, packaging and major product moves trigger urgent alerts by default.
